Painting new plaster using wicks 'paint for new plaster' Hi. I havent used the wickes brand but thats not to say its not good for the purpose. For the first coat on new plaster (mist/priming coat) i always use a paint for new plaster/contract matt. If you want to do it fast try Dulux Trade Drywall Primer Sealer,,, one thick coat of that 2- use good quality (eg wickes master) matt emulsion and water it down well, at least 1 part water 4 parts paint, ideally even more. the more watery it is the better, as it soaks in so quickly. for the next coat ideally water it down again but not as much. final coat can be neat paint.
